The maternal line is IRWIN, a Scotch-Irish line stretching back from San Antonio, Texas through the Arizona Territory, then Anderson County, Kansas, then Elkhart, Indiana and finally to Champlain County, NY where the original County Caven, Ireland IRWINs settled.

The paternal line is SCHUMANN, immigrants from Hattenheim, Hessen, Germany, who came to New Braunfels, Texas in 1846 with the Adelsverein (German Emigration Company).
